About the ShopJudy's Green Lantern Resale offers a wide range of reasonably priced collectibles, antiques and other interesting items we've found in Eastern PA and Western NJ. Our selections include everything from antique furniture to collectible glassware to vintage lawn mowers. We have been collecting as a hobby for a number of years. Eventually, we ran out of room and decided we had to part with some of our stuff. Besides, a large part of the fun in collecting is in the search for unique items and good deals at garage sales, estate sales, and auctions. So, we opened our shop in 1997. The building that houses our shop has an interesting history of its own. It was built in the 1860's. It's a two story building with a cellar and a nearby barn. It previously served as a general store. The Main Floor displays our glassware, ceramics, lamps, and furniture. We usually have antique oil lamps, lantern accessories, paintings, depression glass, old bottles, and an assortment of other collectible glass, as well as used and antique furniture. The Cellar stores our books, records, vintage tools, and found objects. The cellar also houses used furniture that won't fit on the main floor, used tableware, vintage license plates, unique ceramic pieces, and various other odds and ends. The Barn shelters our collection of "pre-depreciated" lawn mowers and used bicycles. We also keep a collection of antique stationary gas engines and a 1939 Ford truck in the barn. The antique gas engines and the truck are not for sale, but we enjoy showing them off. When you do come visit us, you can make a day of it. There are several other antique and collectibles shops just a few minutes away from us. You can dine or have a drink right across the street from our store in the historic Richmond Hotel which has been operating as a restaurant/inn for more than 200 years. You can also explore the historic region. If you drive a few miles down the Delaware River you can visit the museums and shops in Easton, PA. If you head to the North you can visit the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Please visit our shop; browse the main floor, the cellar, and the barn. You never know what you may find, and we are always acquiring more items. |
